If marathons are a source of your appetite, then you may want to consider running the Mussoorie half marathon in November. This marathon could be considered one of the most challenging in the country as you would not only be fighting the altitude, but will also be tackling multiple hills and the occasional monkey. But, with a little bit of Himalayan scenery added to the run, this half marathon will transform into a beautiful Himalyan21Km run.
The 3rd annual Mussoorie half marathon takes place on the 1st November at Hanifl center (Woodstock Schools outdoor education center). The route goes through small village settlements called Kaplani and Suakholi. At points, you could easily touch 7000ft elevation or more, so you have to be prepared for some breathless moments. If you do not wish to run the whole 21Km you can opt for the 5k or 10k runs.
An added bonus to the run is the Hanifl center fair, which will happen at the campgrounds at hanifl after the Marathon. We also hear that there is going to be some live music; so even if you don’t want to run, come and enjoy the fun!!
If you haven’t already signed up then you might want to act quickly and sign up before the 12th October. http://mussoorierunners.com/register/
Happy running and stay fit!
